Auckland Viaduct View operates a permanent 24/7 4K live stream of Auckland's Viaduct Harbour. This page explains what information we collect, what we do with it, and how to contact us about privacy.
Almost nothing. This site does not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or tracking pixels. We do not place cookies of our own. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, logs anonymized request data (IP address, browser type, country, page path) for security and bot-mitigation purposes — standard for any website on the modern internet. We do not access these logs to identify individuals.
Nothing about you. The camera is a fixed-position 4K camera pointed at the Viaduct Harbour. It captures publicly visible scenery (water, boats, buildings, sky). It does not zoom in on individuals, capture audio of people, or record license plates, faces or other identifying details.
When you click play on the live stream, YouTube's embedded player loads in your browser. From that point YouTube/Google may set cookies and collect data according to Google's Privacy Policy. This happens between you and YouTube directly — we do not see or store that data.
We maintain accounts on Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Facebook, X, Bluesky, Reddit and Pinterest under the handle @aucklandviaduct (or close variants where the handle was unavailable). When we post to these platforms, we post our own content — still images, video clips, and captions about the harbour. We use the platforms' official APIs and follow each platform's developer terms.
To take part in the community, we also use these platforms' official APIs — including Meta's Threads API — to read public posts about Auckland, the harbour and related topics, so we can reply with genuine, on-topic engagement. Every reply is reviewed by a person before it is sent. We only access content that is already public, we use it solely for this engagement, and we do not store, sell, repackage or redistribute it, or build profiles of individuals. When viewers interact with our posts, that interaction is governed by the respective platform's privacy policy, not ours.
If you email info@aucklandviaductview.co.nz (for partnerships, embedding requests, or general enquiries), we retain that correspondence so we can reply. We don't add you to any mailing list and we don't share your email with third parties.
This site and stream are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Because we don't maintain a database of personal information about visitors, there is generally nothing to access, correct or delete. If you believe we hold information about you and you'd like it reviewed or removed, email info@aucklandviaductview.co.nz and we will respond promptly.
If you appear unintentionally in a publicly visible scene on the stream or in a still image we have shared and would like to be in touch about it, email the same address and we will work with you in good faith.
Auckland Viaduct View operates from Auckland, New Zealand. The New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 applies. Visitors from other jurisdictions are welcome; the same minimal collection practices apply regardless of where you are.
